accidental compliments have always meant a little more than the overt ones because, at least in my mind, they seem more genuine, less calculated, and not designed to flatter.

…I pretend not to care about these compliments, and I question to what degree they are even deserved, because after all, who am I to take credit for my daughter being so wonderful, but when all is said and done, I love the positive feedback.
