Who is DaddySaidSo?
My name is Denis and I am the proud father of two daughters. McKenna is nearly three years old and Aubrey is coming up on her first birthday. I am married to a wonderful woman named April. We have been together for nearly 11 years. We are both nurses (her - Labor & Delivery/Nursery/PACU and me - ER/ICU) and lucky enough to have flexible schedules so that we don’t have to rely on daycare.
Ever since my first daughter was born I’ve shifted my focus and now find the big battle in my mind between spending every minute I can watching her grow up and spending enough time at work to give her the type of home and life that every child deserves. My respect for the “Average Joe” who finds him or herself in this predicament has gone way up.
As I stated above, my wife and I have been together for 10 years and I am both amazed and thankful that she puts up with my *&%#. Regardless of how corny it sounds, I am so happy and lucky to have her. Marrying her was the single best decision of my life and I try hard to remind her of that as often as I can.
In my professional capacity I am an Emergency Room Nurse. I work in three different hospitals and most days I actually like my job. I will continue to work in the ER for a few more months and then I am off to grad school to become a CRNA. I teach some classes now and I think I would like to teach at the college level but I’m a little leery of getting mired up in the cut-throat world of professor politics and the tenure track.
We’ll see.
I got the idea to start this blog from a friend at work who blogs about ER nursing. She feels that it is a great venue to vent about whatever issue is worthy of posting about that day. She has quite an audience. Her only advice was - write about something you love. And so, DaddySaidSo.com was born. Thank you for taking the time to visit my website.
